In the Winter semester 2018, the undergraduate program in Portuguese Studies will be offering a new and exciting course! Enrol in PRT358 and learn about Literatures and Cultures of Lusophone Africa: Aesthetics, Politics and Identities.


Music in the Lusophone World - Dec 1

This Friday, we invite you to participate in the event "Music in the Lusophone World", in which videos on different types of music in the Lusophone world, made by students of the Portuguese courses 100, 120, 219, 220 and 320, will be presented for competition. There will be prizes for (1) the best informative video, (2) the best musical video, which will be selected by a jury; and a prize for (3) the most creative video as voted by the audience attending the event.

Día de los muertos 2016

Día de los Muertos or The Day of the Dead celebrations are based on the belief that the souls of lost loved ones can come back to this world on November 1st and 2nd.


Spanish Conversation Groups

Emeritus Professor Wendy Rolph

Emeritus Professor Wendy Rolph died on April 6, 2016. Professor Rolph pursued all her studies at the University of Toronto and was appointed lecturer in the then Department of Italian and Hispanic Studies in 1967. She was instrumental in planning courses in film studies in the Department and then in helping to establish the Cinema Studies program at Innis College. She became Director of this Program in 1984 and took a brief break to act as Principal of the College in 1991. She again directed 1991-92.
