Congratulations to Professor Juan Carlos Rocha!

In the last couple of months, our colleague, Juan Carlos Rocha Osornio, has received the following awards and recognitions. Congratulations, Juan Carlos!

He has been selected to participate in the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) Certificate in Effective University Teaching Practice course for 2019 – 2020, offered through the Centre for Teaching Support & Innovation (CTSI).

He is the recipient of the Centre for Community Partnerships Community-Engaged Teaching Faculty Fellowship valued at $2000. He will be supported as a faculty member engaged in the design of SPA120Y (Advanced Spanish through Community Engagement). This fellowship program aims at leading to the expansion and enhancement of CEL and CER course offerings through UofT, a dynamic community of practice for community-engaged teaching, and renewed and strengthened partnerships between UofT and non-profit and public section organizations across the GTA and beyond.

He was the recipient of the Advancing Teaching and Learning in Arts & Science (ATLAS) fund for the project “Fostering Interaction with Native Speakers of Spanish through Community Engaged Learning”. $10,476.75 for the 2019-2020 academic year.
